Ofcom: Stop politicians using news channels for propaganda
To: Ofcom
We the undersigned demand that you properly enforce your own rules to prevent news channels using politicians as newsreaders, interviewers or reporters in news programmes.
News channels such as GB News and Talk TV have politicians hosting programmes – and even interviewing colleagues from their own parties about their policies. This hardly seems in keeping with your own rule “requiring news and current affairs to be presented with due impartiality”.
We have seen the divisive influence of politicised news channels in the United States. We call on Ofcom to carry out its function – without fear of favour – and ensure that all news channels are fair and obey rules around due impartiality.
